The Bjorkestra continues its monthly residency at ShapeShifter Lab in Brooklyn on May 11, which will include a performance and a special treat before the concert: The Bjorkestra’s bandleader Travis Sullivan and Bjorkestra laptop programmer Ian Cook will present and hour long workshop in which they will discuss how computer hardware and software have been essential components in the evolution of the Bjorkestra, and demonstrate their approach to merging the electronic side of Bjork’s music with acoustic jazz in a live performance setting. It’s sure to be fun and informative!
